How to Enrol in the Splash Palace Swim Academy

  1. Book using this link
  2. Use this function to view our swim academy squads and training time tables.
  3. Register yourself or child for a squad here.
  4. Confirmation of your registration and an account will be emailed shortly afterwards – this is to be paid in full prior to commencing.
  5. Each term you will be required to re enrol your children into the appropriate squad.

How to enrol for Makarewa Learn to Swim lessons

  1. Book using this link
  2. New clients work out what level your child is at by viewing our levels on line here ( existing clients use your most recent progress report ).
  3. Register for a class at that level on the time and day that suit you. Makarewa runs terms 1-4.
  4. Enter your details , then your child/children’s details
  5. Choose you venue and preferred days , save and click next
  6. Repeat step 3 and 4 if you wish to add more children
  7. Choose a standard ( the group your child will be in ) choose a venue , choose which term you wish to enrol in and which days and click find classes
  8. Select your classes and click add classes, ok and next
  9. Read and accept our terms of trade accept or decline marketing emails then submit all details
  10. Click pay and enter your card details
  11. ​​You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of your enrolment.
  12. If the classes you are enrolling in don’t show online, this will mean they have filled on that day or time

Terms of Trade

  1. All class registrations and payments for learn to swim  are to come through the website and payment gateway.All squad registrations are to come through the website . An account will be sent.
  2. Any child under the age of 3 years old , we require either a parent to get in the water with them for each lesson and or to supervise their child while on the steps or on the teaching platform. Supervising meaning to be an arms length at all times from their child.
  3. All children aged 5 or under need to wear an aquanappy under their togs for all lessons.
  4. If Southland Swim School has to cancel lessons we will endeavour to offer makeups .If the reason for cancelling is out of our control such as, but not limited by covid-19, weather, pool temp, code brown or natural disasters, there will be no refunds or make-ups.
  5. We ask that all children wait poolside and only enter their lesson once the previous lesson has finished or are asked by their teacher.
  6. The number of sessions made available to you for each squad is what is required for your child to learn all the necessary. skills and improve. If you attend some or all of the scheduled sessions the cost is the same for the term.
  7. Should you require to pull your child out of classes mid way through the term. Your term fee will not be refunded, unless a medical certificate is sighted.
  8. Your child is assessed in week 8 of every term. Our staff are experts in our chosen field and have the final say whether your child moves up a group.
  9. We review our fees annually and make price adjustments accordingly.
  10. You agree to let us use photos of your children swimming on our web-page or social media. Contact [email protected] if you have any concerns.
  11. You agree to us videoing lessons / sessions for the purpose of staff training.
  12. Teachers and coaches will need to physically manipulate swimmers to teach stroke mechanics in the water and on poolside only . We will always ask your child’s permission prior to doing so . We are happy to speak to you about this.
  13. You agree to us passing on your contact details if required for swimming related reasons i.e. entering a meet , joining a club
  14. If Southland Swim School has to cancel learn to swim lessons, we will endeavour to provide a makeup session if logistically possible. If we have to cancel lessons for reasons out of our  control, i.e. pool issues, code browns,  no make ups will be offered.
  15. Teachers and coaches may change during the term if we are away with Swim Southland teams or attending PD opportunities.
  16. If you child has had vomiting, diarrhoea or any other contagious infection please keep them away from lessons until medically cleared or a minimum of 24 hours.
  17. Both swimmer and parent understand and accept our 3 strike discipline policy. Strike 1 is a verbal warning strike 2 is 5 minutes on the side strike 3 your child will be removed from the lesson for the day.
  18. Southland Swim School will provide a coach to attend non Swim Southland representative meets. There will be a small charge for meets outside of the Southland regional to cover the coaches expenses accommodation, petrol, food. Our time at meets is free of charge.
  19. In fairness to all students we have a no crying policy. If your child is upset prior to lessons please settle them before they get in the water. If they are upset during the lesson they will be handed back to you to settle. Learning to swim must be a positive and fun experience.
