Terms of Trade

1. All class registrations and payments for learn to swim and squads  are to come through the website and payment gateway.All squad registrations are to come through the website . An account will be sent.
2. Any child under the age of 3 years old , we require either a parent to get in the water with them for each lesson and or to supervise their child while on the steps or on the teaching platform. Supervising meaning to be an arms length at all times from their child.
3. All children aged 5 or under need to wear an aqua-nappy under their togs for all lessons.
4. Southland Swim School reserves the right to choose who we accept into our swim  school and swim academy.
5. If Southland Swim School has to cancel lessons we will endeavour to offer makeups .If the reason for cancelling is out of our control such as, but not limited by covid-19, weather, pool temp, code brown or natural disasters, there will be no refunds or make-ups.
6. We ask that all children wait poolside and only enter their lesson once the previous lesson has finished or are asked by their teacher.
7. The number of sessions made available to you for each squad is what is required for your child to learn all the necessary. skills and improve. If you attend some or all of the scheduled sessions the cost is the same for the term.
8. Should you require to pull your child out of classes mid way through the term. Your term fee will not be refunded, unless a medical certificate is sighted.
9. Your child is assessed in week 8 of every term. Our staff are experts in our chosen field and have the final say whether your child moves up a group.
10. We review our fees annually and make price adjustments accordingly.
11. You agree to let us use photos of your children swimming on our web-page or social media. Contact [email protected] if you have any concerns.
12. You agree to us videoing lessons / sessions for the purpose of staff training.
13. Teachers and coaches will need to physically manipulate swimmers to teach stroke mechanics in the water and on poolside only . We will always ask your child’s permission prior to doing so . We are happy to speak to you about this.
14. You agree to us passing on your contact details if required for swimming related reasons i.e. entering a meet , joining a club
15. If Southland Swim School has to cancel learn to swim lessons, we will provide a makeup session . If we have to cancel lessons for reasons out of our  control, i.e. pool issues, code browns, vomiting this may not always be possible.
16. Teachers and coaches may change during the term if we are away with Swim Southland teams or attending PD opportunities.
17. If you child has had vomiting, diarrhoea or any other contagious infection please keep them away from lessons until medically cleared or a minimum of 24 hours.
18. Southland Swim School will provide a coach to attend non Swim Southland representative meets. There will be a small charge for meets outside of the Southland regional to cover the coaches expenses accommodation, petrol, food. Our time at meets is free of charge.
19. In fairness to all students we have a no crying policy. If your child is upset prior to lessons please settle them before they get in the water. If they are upset during the lesson they will be handed back to you to settle. Learning to swim must be a positive and fun experience.
